Dawning II

I behold Your sphere
Of iridescent liquid fire
Rising on the ocean's mirror finished horizon
Reaching out it's rays
To encompass
All my newborn morning
With it's shimmering, highlighting clasp
Including and even caressing me
I lift up my praise
To You
As I recall days before
When I didn't perceive Your Son
Until He made molten
My sin hardened, petrified core
And through His Holy Spirit
Quickened born again life
To shine forth
From the new heart of me.
Capturing the dawn on a lake near Yellowstone in the fall of 2010 worked with this poem - the original "view" I was referring to was on the ocean near San Luis Obispo (Pismo Beach area) in the 1970s. Thanking our Lord for His beautiful artistry in sunrises on lakes and oceans.

A Poem with a history. It's even better. I know these places, they will bring out the praise in you. Beautiful work.Respond to this comment
