The Giver and Creator of Wondrous Things
GeoVi's Home for Pregnant Teens
It's that time in my part of the world where I wrestle with my favorite time of the year. The climate is perfect for me in the South Carolina upstate during fall and spring. Winters can become too cold and summers too hot but the Giver and Creator of wondrous things provides for each of us.
I have friends who prefer cold temperatures and others who enjoying basking in the sun on a scorching hot day. This morning, it was somewhat cold so I snuggled in bed a little while longer. I prayed and snoozed, would wake up to pray, give audible thanks to God and discovered I had dozed off again. Ahh, what a blessing to enjoy a leisurely Saturday morning.
It is now past noon and spring is doing its best to push into full bloom. Daffodils, dogwood and Bradford pear trees, to name just a few, are lining the landscape and atmosphere with a splendid array of beautiful colors found only in nature from our Creator.
This afternoon, I am in contemplative thought. Our Creator loves us in that He delights in appealing to our senses. We can see, feel, touch, taste and hear God's abundant blessings everywhere. It is my prayer we never take for granted these blessings because there are some who are unable to function as we do.
I recently read a book written by Dr. Daisy Buckner titled, "Wondrous Things: Biblical Meditations Made Personal." In this literary Christian work, Dr. Buckner writes:
"Treasures from God can be easily found,
His blessings for you can be seen all around.
The Word of God pierces your heart,
Bringing His wisdom to your inward part.
You are now walking in His glorious light,
At all times striving to do that which is right.
Give and it will be given to you;
God will bless when this you do."
If we have full use of our senses, we are obligated to share these blessings with others who are challenged in some way. We must never overlook or ignore treasures from God.
I pray you feel as I do. It is a blessing to behold the wondrous things freely given to us by our Creator. He paid a great price for us and saying "thank you" for things that are seemingly small is pleasing to Him.
