Integrity

Nisargadatta Maharaj affirms, “ Awareness is ever there. It need not be realized. Open the shutter of the mind and it will be flooded with life.” You can say integrity is ever there. Open the shutter of the heart and it will be flooded with truth.
There is an integrity epidemic out there and we must all examine ourselves very carefully, so we don't get wrapped up in it. Be a person of your actions and words. Do not falter or stumble. It's easy to get caught up in lies and the idea of being popular and liked. Shakespeare had it right when he stated, " To thine own self be true. " Let's start living life with integrity and character.
What words come to your mind when you think of integrity? Honesty, truth, loyalty come to my mind. Do we represent those words - do we live our lives every day in the path of integrity? I believe there will be so much less drama if we lived life in integrity. Do what is right, think before you act. Think of the consequences of your actions. Mother Teresa stated, “ Leadership through example.”
To gain respect from others in life, we must have integrity and honor. How can anyone trust you when you are doing things that you shouldn't be doing? We must examine ourselves and our lives and be women of integrity. We are the examples for our children, our spouses, our significant others and our colleagues. Be a strong example - someone people can say - " Yes, I am proud to know her, because she is a woman of integrity " .
Integrity is one of those words that need to be used more often. It's almost a forgotten word in my opinion. I love my girlfriends, because they are women of integrity! In fact, I choose to be friends only with women of integrity and honor.
Remember, may the possibilities of today excite us all!
