I Know What I Need To Do God
by Susan Thom(42)http://onsuchthings.com
I know I need to have Faith that whatever is in my best interest, will happen. It may not be something I can foresee, but I know God always gives me what I need, not necessarily what I ask for. Each traumatic experience unravels a strength in me I never knew I possessed. The calming of the soul takes time, experience, and dedication.
There are situations and people who can be helped with knowledge and wisdom. However, there are more circumstances that cannot be conquered. It’s up to us to learn how to accept these conditions and depend on God to see us through. The answers are His, the questions swirl around in our heads.
Sometimes, we must make the first move towards peace and harmony. Pride so often keeps us from correcting a problem. Giving in is thought of as giving up. Unfortunately, so much pain and hurt usually needs to be felt and sorted through before we realize we have the ability to prevent it all.
Do we really trust God? Do we truly believe in His answers to our prayers? If so, why do we continually worry about all that does not depend on us to solve? In our humanity, do we forget our connection to a Father who loves us? Does fear have more of a hold on us than belief in a higher power?
If we believe it is us that changes the world, we will be disappointed when things don’t go right. We will feel the blame we lay on ourselves, when in reality, we had no say in the outcome of anything. As long as we are doing what we need to do to live honest, humble, giving, and loving lives, the rest is out of our hands.
God will be listening. He will know the distress we are in as we beg for His help. He will know when enough is enough. And He alone will know how to soothe our desperation and grief. If we are in tune with His goodness and Being, we will accept what is offered, and learn how to live in a more peaceful and calming way.
There’s so little time on Earth, arguing and fighting and war, seem so petty when thinking of the whole realm of why we are here. I doubt it is to kill each other. I would think it is to learn how to get along, in preparation perhaps for what lies beyond.
So much of what is going on in our world is so against what I’m sure Our Father ever anticipated. If we think of the beauty that surrounds us, we should then realize it all comes from God, for us to enjoy. Mountains and rivers, oceans and all the beautiful sea life and corals and reefs. The forests and bird sanctuaries and wildlife.
The blue sky and clouds that appear in so many shapes and sizes. The sunset with it’s colors that have never quite been manufactured into a crayon or a paint. All for us to absorb, and yet, we continue to disagree. We argue and fight over what is " ours. " We argue and fight with each other as well as with other countries.
It would seem to me that we are wasting precious time. Time that could better be spent enjoying what we have, and what surrounds us. The little problems that plaque us need to be worked through and moved past. Too much awaits us, if we stop and take the time to absorb it all.
Focus on the bigger picture and the everyday annoyances become just that-annoyances, not major blowups. Nothing is worth pushing aside the love and grace of our Father in Heaven. We need to incorporate Him into our daily lives, and connect His spirit within us to the next person, and the next.
If we are able to achieve this way of life, we shall feel the joy of the Holy Spirit within our souls. We will automatically treat others the way we want to be treated. We will take the time to admire the nature all around us. And we will deal with whatever we are handed, because as painful as some situations may be, we will know that God is standing by our side.
