How Can Inspiration Get Us To Make A Difference
For me, I believe in God, a Supreme and loving light whom created mankind and is awaiting their return. I don't really care what went on before this day, just what inspires me now and lets me know there's a reason for my existence.
I don't believe it's simply to procreate. In my belief system, we are born to the parents we pick (God of course knowing who they're going to be, having already decided, in my mind anyway) and the rest of life is a journey.
There are simplistic mechanics we can follow each day to keep us busy and physically growing and in good shape. However, if, by chance, we do believe we are meant to learn on this Earth, then I think we better get to it. These are the things I think need to be eradicated at an early age.
These would be jealousy, the inability to share, tantrums, not knowing how to control our thoughts, and our tempers, vengeance, and worst of all, judgmentalism and racism of any kind. Can you imagine all of us knowing these simple rules by the time we go to school?
And what would help accomplish that? I think a large part could be conquered by inspiration. If we were taught to not only make each day the best we can for ourselves, but also for others, where oh where would we be now? Maybe not so ready to destroy what God has so kindly given us? We destroy almost everything.
We cut all the trees down, trap all the animals, litter the land, and treat others Not as we would want to be treated, and yet expect to be treated better. Where is our inspiration hiding? Where is the desire to do good and lend a helping hand?
I know many of us on this site, and all over our land and foreign lands, are helping out and doing the best they can. I believe that's because they are inspired to do so. We feel better about ourselves when we've done something for someone else. We feel enlightened and as if we are part of a whole, not just a solitary being on Earth.
If we believe as I do, that there is an afterlife, and we are here to learn from our mistakes, correct them, and make someone else feel better, then we are inspired to figure out what we are here for.
What are our lessons? More important, are we learning them? Do we take on the characteristics of negativity and jealousy and revenge, and then go to church every Sunday, never fail? Do we lie, cheat and steal and then volunteer to feed the homeless?
What is our part here? Is it to live the wrong way and have to accept the punishment, if any, later? Are we counting on such a loving God that He'll forgive everything we've said and done? Does I'm sorry go a long way in Heaven?
What if we have to come back? I never thought about this concept until a few years ago. I can't count it out, because I don't know, but there are those who truly believe we keep coming back until we get it right.
Therefore, if this is indeed true, wouldn't we want to learn all we can? Would we not want to fix our mistakes where we can, and change what we need to in order to move ahead on this plane of life?
Inspiration goes along way in making this happen. It's nice to be inspired because the sun looks so bright and yellow, and the breeze cools the temperature down to perfect.
We may go for a walk and come home and be so inspired that we bake a cake, or make cookies, or wash clothes, or clean out the closet we've been putting off for ages. Or we may go read to the elderly or bake bread for the homeless shelter.
We may also be so inspired that we mend some fences or call an old friend or write a great article that affects people in the positive. Inspiration creates energy, and positive energy at that. The lightness we feel fuels our bodies, and helps our minds think in a balanced manner.
It's easier to think about how others feel, and not just how we feel in any given situation. We hold more doors open for people, and feel ourselves smiling as we walk through the mall.
Inspiration is a warm feeling that carries hope that we are meant to be doing something while we are here. And that's probably to learn how to love others and ourselves. Unfortunate we have to learn how to do so.
It should come so naturally. However, where there's a will, there's a way. Maybe we should start giving instead of taking, praising instead of putting down, helping instead of hurting, sharing instead of hoarding, and joining in instead of singling out.
Be inspired to make a positive difference.
